easyMute update to version 1.1

A2DP users, turn on "Only with Headset"!!

Version 1.1 has been released today. It just adds a small feature, but sure it will be useful to some users.

Now easyMute detects Bluetooth A2DP (headsets/music) devices connection and disconnection. This new feature used along with “Only with headphones” will allow users with bluetooth headsets to save a lot more of their battery.

easyMute hits 10k+, time for reviews!

When the application has already surpassed 10.000 installations worldwide, I’ve dedicated a little time to collect some comments for easyMute gathering information from blogs and Google Play user comments and e-mails sent to FamilyLabs.

Written on Internet:

“It’s an insanely simple, yet brilliant app. It’s intuitive” – at AndroidPolice.com

“It’s pretty magical when you think about it, and it’s free.” – at Androidheadlines.com

“It’s pretty cool and might even impress some people. That’s what we’re here for, right?” – at Droid-Life.com

“easyMute can offer way more efficiency than any other alternative means ……. That’s like shushing a well-disciplined child by raising your finger!” – at AddictiveTips.com

and from Google Play user reviews and comments:

“Awesome Works flawlessly! The other day I had music playing at the office, and when a coworker came in to talk I just waved my hand over the phone to pause. The look on his face was priceless. When I explained what it was, he wished he could do it on his i*hone.”

“Better than Samsung’s Palm gesture I’m impressed. “

“Wonderful!! I feel so powerful waving my hand over my phone and pausing music!”

“Awesome. This app is great. It’s one of those things that you never knew you wanted until you have it and then you can’t live without it.”

“AMAZING One question. Can your iPhone do this? Hahaha this app is amazing so many practical uses!!”

“Actual Power Of Android First Time In My Life”

“Works with PowerAmp as well! PowerAmp is my main player of choice and this app is so simple it’s awesome! Thanks dev for such a simple thing! I wonder if this had been thought of before?”

easyMute and Galaxy S3 (maybe others)

We’ve been reported by several users with a Samsung Galaxy S3 that the application won’t work on their devices.

After some investigation we’ve found that the problem comes from a setting in the Samsung Galaxy S3 that disables the proximity sensor.

If this is your case, please go to Settings > Motion and enable it and everything sould work again.

This behavior could be present in other devices since some vendors add layers of features to AOSP Android, so if you’re having problems getting easyMute to work, please have a look at your device’s settings to make sure you don’t have any setting that is disabling proximity sensor.

We’ll try to find an automatic fix for this problem, but this tip should do it meanhiwle.

Oh, and if this fixes the issue and you reviewed the app with a “Doesn’t work” in Google Play, please, rate it again! Negative comments have a bad impact in overall stars rating.

Thank you!

easyMute december’s #1

Androidheadlines.com published some days ago an article with their #10 recommended new Android applications for december 2012.

And guess what? easyMute is #1, ahead of applications like PhotoWall FX or Cyanogen’s Apollo player… impressive! How such a tiny and simple app got there? Ask the publishers!

Of course, I post a link to the article… enjoy it!

Trouble updating to v1.03?

Some users (few at this moments) are reporting a Google Play error -24 when updating easyMute to v1.03.

If you’re one of these users, there’s a quick fix. Uninstall and reinstall easyMute from Google Play. That should do the trick!

I’m trying to find out what’s happening and will provide a fix version if needed.

If you are having this problem, please, add a comment to this article providing this data:

  • Error code
  • Phone brand & model
  • Android OS version
  • easyMute version installed currently

Thank you!

easyMute at Google Play!

Betatesting phase is done, and finally, easyMute is now “release” version and it’s available al Google Play for all the devices with a proximity sensor and Android >= 2.1

Current version at Play is 1.02 fixing some troubles of layout in certain resolutions.

Final design has also changed from beta version, thanks to my friend Juanma (a great job, dude!) and now the application has a graphical look more professional.

I’ve added also the posibility to pause the music player instead decreasing volume as before. Both are available changing options. It should work with all the media players that comply with Android AudioFocus.

You can download it at Google Play, and don’t forget to rate it! The more ratings, the more people using it!
